About formation house
St. Joseph Formation House of the Brides of the Lamb Sisters has been in existence for over 30 years. It is located in Naddangira Parish, Archdiocese of Kampala in Uganda.
It serves as the central training ground of new members chosen by God to serve Him in His vineyard in the spirit of a bride. Founded to enable members acquire spiritual, human, pastoral and intellectual formation in the very life of the bride of the lamb which is the charism and spirituality of deep union with the Lamb for a powerful intercession for the salvation of souls.
The formation house sits on approximately seven (7) acres of land, which includes formation buildings, areas for agricultural activities, and some small income-generating projects such as candle-making and mushroom growing. These initiatives help support the house and ensure quality formation for the members.
Future Plans
Following the passing of our Founder, Monsignor Expedito Magembe, the congregation is intentionally focusing on strengthening the continuity and depth of its charism and spirituality. This is critical for preserving our identity, enhancing formation, and sustaining our mission in service to God and His Church. To ensure long-term sustainability and impact, we are prioritizing the development of income-generating initiatives that will support our formation programs and apostolic work.
Key priority areas include:
Strengthening formation in our Charism and Spirituality.
Expanding agricultural production (crop farming and animal rearing)
Scaling up existing social enterprises: tailoring, candle-making, shoe making, mushroom growing, and stationery services.
Developing a bookshop for spiritual materials and sacramentals
Strengthening the existing primary school that supports some vulnerable children in the surrounding communities with quality education as well as sustaining the institute.
These strategic investments will enhance our self-reliance, strengthen our mission, and enable us to serve the wider community more effectively.
