The Founder
We thank Almighty God for calling Monsignor Expedito Magembe to serve Him as a priest, in the spirit of “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you” (John 15:16). He was born in November 24th 1937 in Kanabulemu, Nazareth Parish in Masaka Diocese, Rakai District, Uganda.
From his childhood, he had a deep desire to become a priest. However, due to a lack of financial support, he was initially unable to pursue this calling. Instead, he joined religious life as a brother and served for eight (8) years with the Banakalori Brothers in Kiteredde, Uganda.
Despite this, his strong and persistent desire to become a priest led him to eventually join the seminary. His dream was fulfilled when he was ordained a priest in 1973 in the Archdiocese of Kampala.Throughout his priestly ministry, he served as a humble instrument of God and inspired many to live committed Christian lives, in accordance with “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). Among his many spiritual gifts, he founded the Congregation of the Brides of the Lamb Sisters in 1992. The congregation currently exists at the level of a Public Association of the Faithful.
In addition to founding the congregation, he also established Mt. Sion Prayer Centre, Bukalango, where he served for many years as Director and Exorcist.
Through this ministry, many faithful experienced deliverance, healing, and spiritual renewal, leading to the salvation of many souls, in line with Christ’s mission “to proclaim freedom for the captives… and to set the
oppressed free” (Luke 4:18).
Monsignor Expedito Magembe also composed many spiritual songs, especially those expressing the bridal calling and the soul’s intimate union with God. He was deeply inspired by his conviction that the ultimate end of a Christian journey has its fulfillment in the spiritual marriage of the soul.
Having faithfully served his Master—“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7)—the Lord called him to eternal rest on 9th May 2025. We forever exalt the Lord who entrusted him with such a profound mission and grace. Through his life, teachings, and music, countless souls were drawn closer to God and awakened to the beauty of divine love. Though he has departed from our sight, his legacy continues to shine as a guiding light, inviting us to walk the same path of fidelity, surrender, and deep communion with God, until we too attain that ultimate fulfillment in the spiritual marriage of the soul.
